Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at shots2points@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Casual Play — score a round for up to four players on one phone. Enter strokes hole by hole; the app calculates points, handicap shots and standings, and lets you share results when you finish.

Organised Events — run society days, trips, charity events and club competitions. Build the roster, assign groups and scorers, then publish live standings and final results. Scorers join with a simple invite code.

Available on iPhone and Android.

Because Stableford scoring is easy to get wrong on paper. Shots2Points calculates points and standings for you — whether it’s a fourball with mates or a full society day.

Pick your mode, then score hole by hole — the app handles the maths.

Casual Play
Choose a course, add up to four players and their handicaps, then enter gross strokes for each hole. Shots2Points applies handicap shots, calculates Stableford points, and keeps a live leaderboard. Share results when you finish.

Organised Events
The organiser creates an event, builds the roster, assigns groups and designates scorers. When the event opens, scorers join with an invite code and enter scores for their group. The organiser follows live standings on the dashboard and publishes final results when the event closes.

Casual Play: up to 4 players on one phone. One person marks for the group and swipes between players as they score.

Organised Events: from 5 players up to 200, split into groups of four. Each group has a designated scorer who enters scores on their phone. Many groups can score at the same time during an event.

Shots2Points is built for golfers who play Stableford — the most common format for society days, club competitions and casual fourballs in the UK.

It suits you if you want a digital scorecard for a casual round (up to four players) or if you organise or score at society days, trips and club events.

It may not suit you if you mainly play strokeplay or matchplay, or if you prefer to keep everything on paper. The app also needs a smartphone (iPhone or Android).

For most Stableford golfers — from weekend fourballs to society secretaries — it’s a straightforward fit.

GPS: No. Shots2Points does not use your location.

Casual Play: No internet needed to score a round. Everything stays on your phone unless you choose to share results. A mobile signal is only needed if you share via message or email.

Organised Events: Internet is required. Scorers submit scorecards to the server, and the organiser’s dashboard and live standings update online. Players following the live standings link in a browser also need a connection.

Data usage: Casual scoring uses almost none. Events use small amounts of data for score submission and leaderboard updates — similar to normal app use, not streaming or maps.

Yes.

Casual Play: when your round is complete, tap Share to send results via your phone’s share sheet — message, email, AirDrop, etc. You can share a PDF scorecard, a spreadsheet-style view, or CSV data. Everything is generated on your device; Shots2Points doesn’t see or store what you share.

Organised Events: the organiser can share a live standings link during play (viewable in a browser, no app needed). After the event closes, final results are available on the organiser dashboard.

Once a scorer submits their group scores, they are returned to the Causual scorecard format so they can share the scores if they wish.

Shots2Points is designed to keep things simple and local where possible.

Casual Play: your rounds stay on your phone. Player names, handicaps, courses and scores are stored locally. Shots2Points does not use GPS, show ads, or collect usage analytics. When you share a scorecard (PDF, spreadsheet or CSV), it’s generated on your device and sent only through the app you choose — message, email, AirDrop, etc.

Organised Events: to run live scoring, player names, handicaps and submitted scores are stored on our server so scorers and organisers can sync results and publish standings. This data is used only to operate the event.

What we don’t do: no location tracking, no advertising identifiers, no selling of personal data.
